Almost all of the soldiers were recruited from worlds with technologies that are low enough that they could be much more easily duped into flying off to who knows where!  I have been involved in huge efforts to help them regain more and more of their self determination from being overwhelmed with physical and/or interdimensional attacks of all sorts.  I get into much more detail about these sorts of things at the link intergalacticwar.net.

This drawing is a preliminary sketch made with the intent of helping me do something much better with colored pencils.  The Jdebeshtau are really quite an interesting bunch and generally very fast to try and get free of involvements with would be conquerors/dominators.

One of the big reasons I am trying to develop my abilities for portraiture is so I can better represent putemocorps (aliens - but thinking/feeling/prezzes) I am encountering.  I hope to do many more such images.  The truth is, the Jdebeshtau soldiers that have seen this say they would give it a 90.  I suspect that artists from their home system would likelier rate it in the mid 80s.
